That said, vape pens do have their drawbacks. And with standard 510 threading, you can mix and match atomizers to your heart’s content. A vape pen just looks like an e-cigarette, so nobody will think there’s cannabis inside. Cannabis might be legal in many states, but you might not want anyone to see you using it. Vape pens are also simpler, with fewer complex controls. Since you can carry one in your pocket, you can use it just about anywhere. The main reason people use a vape pen is portability. As you might imagine, each approach has its benefits and its drawbacks. Dab rigs also have glass on top, and can be outfitted with bubblers and other cooling mechanisms. A dab rig is a bit bigger, with a larger atomizer that’s enough for multiple hits. Vape Pens vs Dab RigsĪ vape pen is a small, pocket-sized vaporizer similar to an e-cigarette. Thanks to the reduced temperature, you can enjoy massive clouds of cool, smooth vapor. It turns your vape pen into a mini dab rig. It’s a glass globe for the top of your vape that helps to cool the vapor, and it’s designed specifically for use with the Globe atomizer. That’s where the Ghost Globe Attachment comes in. Titanium coils can produce huge clouds, but they can tend to feel harsh. It’s an all-titanium atomizer, which we wouldn’t normally advise. The Ghost Globe Atomizer is a unique animal. If you’re willing to pay a bit extra for a premium experience. You’ll get a smooth draw from the beginning of the first hit to the end of your follow-up hit. This provides better temperature consistency than a hybrid design. The Ghost Ceramic Atomizer is similar to the Ghost Atomizer, but it’s entirely made from ceramic. The ceramic material is also very easy to clean. It has medical-grade titanium coils, with a ceramic chamber-lined vaporization chamber that provides a terpene-rich experience. The Ghost Atomizer is the default replacement atomizer for Dr. It also has a magnetic cover, so you can reload it without unscrewing it from your vape pen. This ensures that you’ll vape at the same temperature every time you vape. Meanwhile, a temperature sensor delivers real-time temperature readings to the control circuitry. This provides an even, consistent temperature inside the chamber. The patented IntelliTEMP heating element is fully isolated in a layer between the quartz vaporization chamber and the stainless steel body. The Boost Evo Quartz Atomizer is a hybrid atomizer constructed from quartz and stainless steel. The kit comes with a mouthpiece and silicone airflow regulator along with the atomizer itself. You can order it individually, or as a complete kit. The Stella atomizer is designed for durability, and to maintain a consistent temperature. This keeps your pen from heating up and improves the efficiency of the vaporization process. The vaporization chamber has a floating design, which isolates it from the rest of the vape pen. This is an all-ceramic atomizer with covered, protected coils. The Stella Replacement Atomizer is the standard replacement for the Dr. Dabber’s atomizers, and why you might choose one over another. There are many 510 wax atomizers on the market. You’ll also get more or less flavor and faster or slower heating performance. You may have a ton of airflow, or you might have a tighter draw. Most atomizers will use 510 threading, which is standard throughout the industry.ĭifferent materials and constructions will provide a different vaping wax experience. There can be one, two, or even three coils. These can be made of different materials, including ceramic, titanium, and quartz. However, all of them require a heating element or coil. You load it with your wax, budder, or other extracts, and vape to your heart’s content.Īs we’ll discuss, there are multiple varieties of wax atomizers. The only difference is that these are wax tanks that contain cannabis oil instead of vape juice.Ī wax atomizer, on the other hand, is meant to handle other cannabis concentrates. These are similar to the tanks that are used with a traditional e-cigarette. If you want to vape THC, CBD, or other cannabis products using a vape pen, you have a couple of options. Here’s a complete guide to wax atomizers, along with the best wax atomizers from Dr. But if you want a portable, discreet way to dab, an atomizer and a dab pen are the best way to go. The neat thing is that you can use them with any pen that supports a sub-ohm dab tank.Ī dab rig might get you more flavor and versatility. It screws onto the 510 threaded connection at the top of your pen. A wax atomizer allows you to turn your vape mod into a miniature dab rig.

Most of the particles passed straight through the foil, but a few were deflected slightly and a very small number were significantly deflected. It was almost as incredible as if you fired a 15-inch shell at a piece of tissue paper and it came back and hit you.” 1įigure 2.9 Geiger and Rutherford fired α particles at a piece of gold foil and detected where those particles went, as shown in this schematic diagram of their experiment. Rutherford described finding these results: “It was quite the most incredible event that has ever happened to me in my life. However, some were diverted slightly, and a very small number were deflected almost straight back toward the source ( Figure 2.9). What did they discover? Most particles passed right through the foil without being deflected at all. Rutherford and his colleagues Hans Geiger (later famous for the Geiger counter) and Ernest Marsden aimed a beam of α particles, the source of which was embedded in a lead block to absorb most of the radiation, at a very thin piece of gold foil and examined the resultant scattering of the α particles using a luminescent screen that glowed briefly where hit by an α particle. He performed a series of experiments using a beam of high-speed, positively charged alpha particles (α particles) that were produced by the radioactive decay of radium α particles consist of two protons and two neutrons (you will learn more about radioactive decay in the chapter on nuclear chemistry). The next major development in understanding the atom came from Ernest Rutherford, a physicist from New Zealand who largely spent his scientific career in Canada and England. (b) Nagaoka proposed that atoms resembled the planet Saturn, with a ring of electrons surrounding a positive “planet.” (credit a: modification of work by “Man vyi”/Wikimedia Commons credit b: modification of work by “NASA”/Wikimedia Commons) The term “electron” was coined in 1891 by Irish physicist George Stoney, from “ electric i on.”įigure 2.8 (a) Thomson suggested that atoms resembled plum pudding, an English dessert consisting of moist cake with embedded raisins (“plums”). Although controversial at the time, Thomson’s idea was gradually accepted, and his cathode ray particle is what we now call an electron, a negatively charged, subatomic particle with a mass more than one thousand-times less that of an atom. (credit a: modification of work by Nobel Foundation credit b: modification of work by Eugen Nesper credit c: modification of work by “Kurzon”/Wikimedia Commons)īased on his observations, here is what Thomson proposed and why: The particles are attracted by positive (+) charges and repelled by negative (−) charges, so they must be negatively charged (like charges repel and unlike charges attract) they are less massive than atoms and indistinguishable, regardless of the source material, so they must be fundamental, subatomic constituents of all atoms. Simultaneous deflections by applied electric and magnetic fields permitted Thomson to calculate the mass-to-charge ratio of the particles composing the cathode ray. (c) In the cathode ray, the beam (shown in yellow) comes from the cathode and is accelerated past the anode toward a fluorescent scale at the end of the tube. (b) This is an early cathode ray tube, invented in 1897 by Ferdinand Braun. Thomson produced a visible beam in a cathode ray tube. The results of these measurements indicated that these particles were much lighter than atoms ( Figure 2.6).įigure 2.6 (a) J. In similar experiments, the ray was simultaneously deflected by an applied magnetic field, and measurements of the extent of deflection and the magnetic field strength allowed Thomson to calculate the charge-to-mass ratio of the cathode ray particles. This beam was deflected toward the positive charge and away from the negative charge, and was produced in the same way with identical properties when different metals were used for the electrodes. When high voltage was applied across the electrodes, a visible beam called a cathode ray appeared between them. This apparatus consisted of a sealed glass tube from which almost all the air had been removed the tube contained two metal electrodes. If matter is composed of atoms, what are atoms composed of? Are they the smallest particles, or is there something smaller? In the late 1800s, a number of scientists interested in questions like these investigated the electrical discharges that could be produced in low-pressure gases, with the most significant discovery made by English physicist J. Define isotopes and give examples for several elements.Describe the three subatomic particles that compose atoms.

M-T-N Design specializes in luxury mountain home designs that mimic the many textures of nature - from the sharp lines of mountain peaks to the warm, bright sunlight that radiates from the horizon. Inch divisions state the type of gradation markings the tool would have, while conversion tables help you know the type of measurement system used in the instrument to convert it as per your convenience. If you are interested in a custom-designed timber frame home, PrecisionCraft’s in-house firm, M-T-N Design is a premier timber home designer and can work with you to create a custom layout. The measurement system of a framing square depends on inch divisions and conversion tables. Measurement systemĭifferent framing squares have different measurement systems, and you need to check them before buying one. Moreover, if the gradation marks fade away after a few months, the scale would be of no use. If the material is not sturdy, then it can break or bend under high pressure, which will further lead to wrong measurements. The durability of framing squares depends on the material used for construction and the gradation marks. DurabilityĪ framing square should have excellent durability otherwise, the instrument would be of no use. The color of markings should contrast with the body color of the framing square to ensure good visibility. Most manufacturers stamp the gradations on the framing squares or use lasers to make the marks permanent. A framing square should have good readability to prevent any mistakes. If you are unable to read the gradation marks on the framing square, then it’s of no use. If they match, then draw a line with the square to know whether it’s straight or not. For checking the accuracy of a framing square, place it with a ruler and check the markings. If the tool is not accurate, it can lead to wrong measurements and hamper your work. AccuracyĪccuracy is the most important thing that you must keep in mind while selecting a framing square. However, if you go for a stainless steel tool, then you need to make sure that it doesn’t get damaged due to rusting and oxidation. Most manufacturers use stainless steel, carbon steel, or aluminum for designing framing squares that give excellent results. The material used for the construction of a framing square plays a vital role in determining its sturdiness and accuracy. What Are the Factors You Should Look For in a Framing Square? Build material Hence, we have created this buying guide that consists of all the important factors you should keep in mind while selecting the best framing square for your projects. If the hand tool is not perfect, it can hamper your project for a long time. Before buying a framing square, proper research is required because these tools hold an important role in any designing project. Runs natively in (Mac OSX) Compatibility:macOS 10. Like all great films, even the dodgiest moments are classics in their own right. In one scene he seduces his girlfriend with the aggressively delivered lines: “It’s a book about metals” and “Lady, why are you so interested in what I’m reading?” She decides to run away with him to New Zealand a few days later. He wears a signature grey double-breasted jacket, talks like he’s just read a self-help book for bank robbers and somehow – somehow - manages to pull off the only goatee beard that has successfully outlasted the Nineties. Apparently he imagined his character Vincent Hanna as a heavy cocaine user, which goes some way to explaining some of his delivery: "Sit dooown Ray!"ĭe Niro’s Neil McCauley is smart, quiet and focused a reserved career criminal who listens, assesses and only speaks when it’s absolutely necessary. Throughout, Pacino is revved up and improvising in several shouty exchanges. They did of course but it shows just how epic this confrontation was to film fans in 1995. A moment so hyped and analysed that rumours spread that they didn’t even shoot the scene together on set. Then there’s Pacino v De Niro in the coffee shop, which carries its own folklore. The SAS were involved in training the actors and Val Kilmer’s technique is apparently so good that his scenes have been used in US Marine training. When I saw it for the first time, I had goosebumps, partly in anticipation, but mainly because it exceeded already lofty expectations. At the time it was a cultural moment “have you heard about the shoot-out in Heat?” First up is that street gunfight of course, and rightly so. Its weirdly passionate fans would say, "yeah I know, isn’t it great?" Some say it’s long, earnest, incredibly Nineties and full of genre clichés. We watch Him bring light after darkness, order after chaos, and rest after toil-all through the power of His Word. Beginning with Genesis 12, walk alongside the fathers of our faithAbraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Josephto discern Jesus in the stories of His people. This particular edition is in a Paperback format. The opening lines and chapters of Genesis teach us fundamental truths about God. 10.48 26 Used from 3.71 13 New from 9.87. The book's concluding section, includes closing remarks from the authors, notes, and an annotated bibliography of additional resources. The title of this book is God of Creation - Bible Study Book and it was written by Jen Wilkin. The studies in this section reflect on the ways scientists hope to learn more about God through exploring God’s creation. Part Three: What does the Bible say about science? Scripture affirms that God created and sustains the natural world Scripture does not tell us how God does all of this. The studies in this section consider what it means to trust the Bible, to be made in the image of God, and to recognize that Christians hold a variety of views about human origins and evolution. Part Two: What does the Bible say about human origins? Some people may tell you that there is only one Christian position on origins, but that is neither historically nor currently true. The studies in this section explore scriptural perspectives on creation from both the Old and New Testaments. Part One: What does the Bible say about creation? Surprisingly, several New Testament passages focus on Jesus, science, and creation. Then it moves into specific studies, four in each of these three topic areas: Clearly He is the great subject creation is merely His. God is referred to by name 35 times in the opening section of Genesis 1:1-2:3. The book begins with introductory comments by the authors, a chemistry professor and a campus pastor, and it offers suggestions for Bible study leaders. Moses’ purpose was that in thinking about the creation account and in observing the world around us, we should focus on the greatness of God who brought it all into being through the word of His power. Genesis reveals an all-powerful God without beginning and end, who is other than his creation. In the beginning, the Bible reveals a God who is not a created being, a figment of our imaginations, or a durable crutch we invent in difficult times. Creation reveals a God who is not like us. The book encourages unity within the church and offers a balanced perspective, which is necessary for preserving the faith of young Christians when they learn more about science and for presenting a more coherent and compelling gospel to people considering Christianity. Here are four important realities that passage teaches. With a focus on understanding how the Bible relates to science and with respect for diverse views, this study guide leads participants into courteous dialog. The easy-to-follow format includes the texts being discussed, questions to consider, reflections, suggestions for incorporating prayer and worship into meetings, and recommendations for further reading. The individual studies are formatted to be used by groups irrespective of their previous training in the sciences or experience with the Bible. Even though we may never see God’s angels surrounding what’s surrounding us, we can trust they are there. Day 7 - God had finished his work of creation and so he rested on the seventh day, blessing it and making it holy.Jesus, Beginnings, and Science presents twelve guided discussions for Bible study groups.Much has been written on the creation from the scientific. He blessed them and gave them every creature and the whole earth to rule over, care for, and cultivate. This book works well for topic study on creation and for Old Testament studies on the text of Genesis. The study walks you through verse by verse, tracing the themes of creation, fall, redemption, and restoration. On day six, God also created man and woman ( Adam and Eve) in his own image to commune with him. Popular Bible teacher Jen Wilkin’s new Bible study for women God of Creation falls solidly into that category. God of Creation is a 10-session Bible Study on Genesis 1-11. Day 6 - God created the animals to fill the earth.Day 5 - God created every living creature of the seas and every winged bird, blessing them to multiply and fill the waters and the sky with life. These would also serve as signs to mark seasons, days, and years. Day 4 - God created the sun, moon, and the stars to give light to the earth and to govern and separate the day and the night.Day 3 - God created the dry ground and gathered the waters, calling the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters "seas." On day three, God also created vegetation (plants and trees).Day 2 - God created an expanse to separate the waters and called it "sky.".Day 1 - God created light and separated the light from the darkness, calling light "day" and darkness "night.". What It Is: Per its name, Exponential View focuses almost exclusively on “exponential technologies.” Curated by Azeem Azhard, who has both tech investing and Harvard Business Review editorial board experience - EV covers topics like AI, renewable energy, synthetic biology (and how each will “challenge our social and economic fabric in chaotic ways”). Further, instead of just recapping (or regurgitating) news from other sources, they take a more original, story-based approach to each piece. What It Is: Produced as part of Bloomberg’s tech department, Fully Charged leans on Bloomberg’s deep talent pool to aggregate the day’s top stories. Not to mention: In addition to subscribing via email, he also publishes each issue via his iOS app. What It Is: Acting as a replacement for the algorithms used to aggregate news on today’s top sites, author Dave Pel positions Next Draft as “Trusted by the people who write the news.” And with testimonials from some pretty well-respected veterans in the industry, he’s got the chops to back it up. What It Is: Positioned as a newsletter for DevOps professionals, tech VC, and CXOs in the tech space, industry veteran Chris Short covers techie topics like Cloud Native, GitOps, DevOps, and the culture (the ‘ish) between tech and all of the above. In particular, they’ve become famous for their in-depth, unbiased reviews of cool and cutting-edge tech products. What It Is: While they’ve shifted their focus from email to blogging, Digital Trends is still considered one of the industry-leading tech newsletters. Instead, author Ernie Smith finds one over-the-top, abnormally interesting story, then covers it in-depth. What It Is: While many newsletters try to condense as much news as possible into each issue, the Tedium goes the opposite direction. What It Is: On the lighter side, Dense Discovery positions itself as a “thoughtful” newsletter designed to help you “feel inspired, be productive and think critically.” Further, their writers look at how technology intersects with culture, design and even sustainability. Meant for deep thinkers - with a slant towards philosophy, futurism, and the societal implications of technology - this isn’t your everyday bathroom read. What It Is: Produced by the journalists / content-publishing arm of the world-famous Massachusetts Institute of Technology, The Download applies a high-level, humanity-focused lens towards their analysis of tech news. What It Is: Promoted as condensing “three hours of stories into three minutes,” Box of Amazing covers a wide variety of tech (including mainstream topics like AI and drones to more off-color topics like cyborgs and 3D printing body parts). Weekly updates are free while more frequent issues require a paid subscription. His newsletter, Stratechery, focuses on technology, media, and how both impact society. What It Is: With a strong academic background, and work experience that ranges from Apple to Microsoft and more, author Ben Thompson is considered one of the most respected observers in the tech space. Not to mention the “ten must-see links of the month” and a handful of quirky tech-related statistics. What It Is: Branded as the place to get tech news the mainstream media missed, Bizzaro Devs publishes a summary of three key stories in each issue. What It Is: With more than 15 million monthly visitors, TechCrunch not only runs one of the top blogs in the industry but also produces nearly a dozen different industry-focused newsletters (including transportation, apps, outer space and more). So, to help you do just that, we’ve put together a list of today’s top 25 tech newsletters. However, by condensing your news consumption down to a handful of the most relevant newsletters, you can easily stay on top of what matters most without spending hours glued to tech blogs. With dozens of sub-niches, programming languages and business applications, trying to stay on top of the tech industry can feel overwhelming (and that’s putting it lightly). |
